I’ve been tackling a lot of ignition lock issues lately, especially with broken keys stuck in the cylinder. One technique that’s worked well for me is using a pair of needle-nose pliers to grip the broken piece, but I’ve also started incorporating extraction tools that are specially designed for this. I’m curious what other methods you guys might be using to handle this common problem.
I’ve had luck using a rubber band for extra grip when trying to pull out stuck keys. It gives you just enough friction to get a better hold, especially when the piece is really wedged in. I still keep an extraction tool handy just in case, though; sometimes you need the right tool for a tricky situation! @user123 had a good point about using heat as well — sometimes warming up the ignition casing helps loosen it.
