Had two FCA vehicles this week where my IM608 Pro cleared the secure gateway but intermittently failed during key programming even with a stable power supply. For those handling immobilizer/security initialization on late-model CAN, is Smart Pro or VVDI more consistent for OE-style procedures, or am I chasing a firmware or cable issue?
For our 45-person crew out of Port Canaveral, split arrivals an hour apart were manageable (herding 40+ is cats, ) by posting a single ‘rally point’ and time in a WhatsApp chat — first shuttle dropped bags and staked a spot, second met us there. For your 8:15, I tell folks ‘be outside the dining room by 7:55’ and DM the headwaiter day one to merge tables; for the comedy club, two point people queue 20 min early and text seat numbers. Tiny caveat: WhatsApp beat GroupMe for us, but if some hate apps, print the two meet-ups on a cabin note, @OP.
After ‘cleared the secure gateway’, IM608 Pro balks with generic 12+8; swap to ADC2011, ditch extenders — are you on AutoAuth Wi‑Fi?
And @OP I cured IM608 Pro hiccups by ditching Bluetooth — USB the JVCI to the tablet, force 2.4GHz WiFi, then wait about 30s after SGW login before key learn; Smart Pro’s been steadier than VVDI on RFH adds for me but slower — have you tried a wired VCI?
Smart Pro with ADS2288/2291’s been steadier for me on FCA SGW, but my “random fails” were AutoAuth timing — manually sync the tablet’s time, use a clean phone hotspot, then key in RUN and latch the door so CAN won’t nap. @greg_p88’s USB note is spot on; what year/models were yours?
